Aphena Pharma Solutions, Liquid and Topicals Division in Easton, MD, seeks a full-time purchasing professional to support the Director of Purchasing by collecting and analyzing requirements, drivers and trends to develop category sourcing strategies that optimize value, supply and quality.

The candidate should have a BS/BA in supply chain or related field, CPSM certification, 8+ years in purchasing, experience with pharmaceutical/industrial chemicals, strong negotiation and Excel/ERP skills, and

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related discipline.
• CPSM Certified Professional in Supply Management desirable.
• Minimum of 8 years in Purchasing/Supply Chain environment.
• Experience sourcing pharmaceutical and industrial chemicals.
• Comprehensive knowledge of sourcing strategies and commodity tracking processes.
• Experience sourcing packaging items – product contact and secondary.
• Excellent negotiation skills.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes in a pharma cGMP environment.
• Ability to collaborate and influence others in a team-based environment.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with urgency.
• Continuous improvement mindset.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
• In-depth knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
• Willing to travel up to 20%

Responsibilities

• Support the Director of Purchasing by collecting and analyzing business requirements and cost drivers.
• Develop and implement category sourcing strategies to optimize value, supply and quality.
• Build and grow relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders.
• Identify new raw material sources and drive approvals; troubleshoot inbound supply constraints.
• Negotiate independently to achieve expected business results.
• Define project plans and track progress to ensure timely delivery and results.
