Job summary

Questex’s Fierce Pharma seeks a sharp, eager journalist to join our expanding team as Senior Writer. You will deliver daily news and feature stories focusing on the pharmaceutical industry, from major drugmakers to niche companies, exploring pipelines, regulations, earnings, manufacturing, and business strategies.

You’ll build sources, break news, and add depth with deeper context, while maintaining accuracy and editorial integrity.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a newsroom, preferably in pharma/life sciences.
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field.
• Strong writing skills and proficiency in AP style.
• Competitive spirit and drive to break news and scoop the competition.

Responsibilities

• Write daily news stories and longer-form articles on the pharmaceutical industry.
• Develop the beat and cultivate sources at pharma companies, regulators, manufacturers and analysts.
• Research public sources (government databases, court docs, filings) for untold stories.
• Brainstorm and develop engaging features for deeper context and insights.
• Contribute to podcasts and multimedia projects.
• Attend key medical meetings and industry conferences.
