You will produce timely, analytical journalism for subscribers, collaborate with a small team, and leverage SEC filings and earnings disclosures to illuminate trends for readers.

Qualifications

  • At least three years of business reporting experience.
  • Experience editing for a daily or wire publication.
  • Experience reporting on healthcare or payer ecosystems.
  • Ability to write for a specialist or niche audience.
  • Proven beat leadership with scoops and enterprise content.
  • Strong source-building and relationships with senior industry contacts.
  • Comfort with SEC filings, earnings reports and disclosures.
  • Excellent writing, analytical skills and ability to work at pace.

Responsibilities

  • Report and write several articles each week.
  • Develop subject-matter expertise to provide clarity and authority.
  • Break news and build a strong network of sources.
  • Monitor deadlines and relevant data releases to identify opportunities.
  • Build relationships with insurance executives and industry sources.
  • Develop scoops and analytical coverage for subscribers.
  • Travel to industry events and collaborate with teams on multimedia.
  • Occasionally moderate webcasts or panels.
