Job summary

HonorHealth Deer Valley Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Billing Specialist to join the Patient Financial Services team. This role will support the daily billing lifecycle and contribute to accurate revenue cycle operations.

Responsibilities include collecting, reconciling, resolving credit balances, researching denials, posting adjustments, and assisting with process improvements within PFS to ensure timely, accurate payments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 18 months patient accounts experience required.
• 18 months billing, collection or Medicare/Commercial billings required.
• 5 years Billing or collections preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reconciles accounts daily to determine underpayment, overpayment or contractual adjustment correction.
• Reviews EOBs for denials and posts corrected adjustments to balance accounts.
• Interprets payer contracts to verify payment and PCON adjustments.
• Promotes teamwork and works with hospital departments for proper coding and billing procedures.
