Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. is seeking an Experienced Remediation Engineer or Geologist (PFAS) to lead PFAS investigations, remedial evaluations, and treatment/mitigation projects in Northern California from Oakland, Walnut Creek, or Sacramento offices.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, client communication, and regulatory coordination, with opportunities to mentor staff and manage complex multi-media projects in a dynamic engineering firm environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, chemical, or environmental preferred), geology, or environmental science.
  • Advanced degree in the same (preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) licensure in California (required).

Responsibilities

  • Manage PFAS and remediation projects including scope development, budget and schedule management, QA/QC, subcontractor oversight, and client communication to achieve objectives.
  • Develop PFAS conceptual site models (CSMs) and investigation strategies with multi-media sampling.
  • Lead the preparation of PFAS work plans and technical memoranda; evaluate data and support remedy selection.
  • Oversee pilot studies and full-scale PFAS remedy implementation including design of treatment systems and O&M support.
  • Prepare and review technical deliverables and provide technical review of project work products.
  • Support growth of PFAS/remediation client base through proposals and business development.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, regulators, and stakeholders; communicate PFAS concepts clearly.
  • Mentor and motivate junior staff; train PFAS sampling and data review.
  • Fieldwork may include multi-media sampling and oversight of drilling, well installation, and system construction.
  • Drive travel to client sites and project locations as needed.
