Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking a Project Level Environmental Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist for our Sacramento, CA or Concord, CA offices. Candidates must have at least 6 years of environmental experience and hold or gain PE/PG licensure within a year.

The role involves leading site investigations, remediation planning, and report preparation, while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with clients and regulators in Northern California.

Qualifications

• 6-10 years of related environmental experience – 8+ years highly preferred.
• BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a BS in Geology or other related discipline (e.g., Geophysics, Hydrogeology, Geochemistry).
• Current PE or PG license, or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
• Strong communication, writing, and team-working abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage site investigation, remedy selection, and remediation projects across Northern California.
• Mentor junior staff on projects and tasks.
• Lead client and regulator communications and prepare/peer review deliverables.
• Prepare work plans, remedy selection documents, and client presentations.
• Ensure safety and quality standards on projects and field activities.
• Prepare proposals for small to mid-size projects with senior staff support.
• Review RFQs/RFPs and participate in go/no-go evaluations.
• Oversee subsurface drilling investigations and soil/groundwater sampling.
