Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants in Oakland, Walnut Creek, or Sacramento is seeking an Experienced Remediation Engineer or Geologist (PFAS) to lead PFAS investigations and remedial projects. You will guide multi‑disciplinary teams, coordinate regulatory aspects, and deliver engineering solutions for complex environmental challenges across Northern California.

You will develop site models, plan multi‑media sampling, and oversee treatment design, permitting, O&M, and client communications, with a focus on

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of environmental consulting experience with PFAS focus.
  • Strong remediation foundation and PFAS investigation methods.
  • Experience managing projects with budget, scope, and schedule responsibility.
  • Thorough understanding of CalEPA and USEPA PFAS regulations and guidance.
  • Experience mentoring professional staff and leading teams.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to travel to client facilities and perform field activities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead PFAS investigations, remediation projects, and client communications.
  • Develop PFAS CSMS, sampling programs, and remedy strategies.
  • Prepare work plans, memos, data interpretations, and remediation designs.
  • Oversee pilot studies, full‑scale remedy implementation, and O&M support.
  • Review deliverables and provide technical oversight to the project team.
  • Support business development and client relationship growth with regulators and clients.
  • Mentor junior staff in PFAS sampling and data quality review; travel as needed.
