Job summary

Messino Cancer Centers is hiring a PET/CT Technologist II to operate PET/CT equipment, administer radiopharmaceuticals, and ensure high-quality diagnostic images. You will follow ALARA principles, document treatments, and support patients throughout the scanning process in a fast-paced radiology department.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of PET/CT experience, NMTCB/ARRT certification, and active licensure as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum - Graduate from an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology or similar.
• Preferred - BS Degree in Nuclear Medicine or other related field
• Certified as a Registered Nuclear Medicine or PET Technologist by NMTCB or ARRT. Dual certification as Radiographer (ARRT)(R) or CT Technologist (CT) preferred
• State license required if applicable for locality.
• Must have current CPR/BLS certifications.
• Fluency in English essential; Spanish desirable.
• Travel: Rarely
• Standard Work Days/Hours: M-F, 8am - 5pm

Responsibilities

• Inject RPH and contrast materials in accordance with SOP and standards of care.
• Utilize PET/CT Scanner to produce cross-section images for diagnosis.
• Maintain Quality Control tests on PET/CT Scanner and Hot lab equipment.
• Ensure accurate scanning of each patient with proper protocols.
• Identify appropriate patients using the 2-method protocol.
• Explain test procedures and safety precautions to patients and provide assistance.
• Prepare RPH and contrast adhering to safety standards.
• Produce images for interpretation by a physician.
• Coordinate and maintain patient schedules with Company coordinators.
• Maintain Nuclear Medicine or PET certification and state license as required.
• Adhere to all laws, policies, IT and Disaster Recovery procedures.
• Keep work area and records neat; ensure building and equipment safety.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA; assist in training new employees.
• Work at any Company location as needed; overtime with notice.
• Provide guidance to PET/CT Technologist I in absence of Radiology Team Lead.
