Job summary

GSA in Washington, DC seeks a Supervisory Security Specialist to serve as the primary technical advisor on agency personnel security policies and to lead complex background investigations. You will analyze federal legislation, executive orders, and OPM guidelines to shape SOPs and drive program communications.

You will supervise a team, manage adjudicative decisions, and maintain continuous vetting and RAPBack enrollment for all personnel.

Qualifications

• Requires at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-12 in the Federal service.

Responsibilities

• Serves as SME on agency personnel security policies; analyzes legislation and directives to formulate policies and SOPs.
• Performs senior reviews on complex security cases; adjudicates reports and memos on sensitive issues.
• Leads background investigations, reciprocity determinations, and Continuous Vetting; optimizes workflows.
• Analyzes threat intelligence and risk data; uses qualitative and quantitative methods to monitor metrics.
• Directs daily team operations, coaches staff, and ensures high-quality deliverables.
