Job summary

CNR Insurance seeks an experienced Personal Lines Account Manager to join our Annapolis team. You will manage an established book, conduct coverage reviews, and act as a trusted advisor to clients and underwriters.

Your role emphasizes proactive renewals, client service, and growth through cross-selling protective options. You should bring years of personal lines experience, a Maryland license or ability to obtain it, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Several years of meaningful personal lines insurance experience.
• Active Maryland Property & Casualty license or ability to obtain promptly.
• Strong knowledge of homeowners, automobile, personal umbrella, and related personal coverages.
• Experience working directly with clients and insurance company underwriters.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in an independent insurance agency and familiarity with multiple carriers is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop client relationships while serving as a trusted insurance advisor.
• Conduct thoughtful coverage reviews and identify gaps or exposures to improve protection.
• Handle renewals proactively and conduct renewals with care.
• Quote, market, rewrite, and place personal accounts with appropriate carriers.
• Explain coverage, deductibles, endorsements, exclusions, and options clearly to clients.
• Process policy changes, billing questions, and claims-related conversations.
• Re-underwrite and remarket accounts when warranted.
• Develop knowledge of partner carriers and underwriting appetites.
• Identify opportunities for additional protection (umbrella, flood, life, etc.).
• Build relationships to improve retention and generate referrals.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow agency procedures.
