Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking an RN Clinical Periop Nurse to join a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality perioperative care. The role operates under Nurse Managers and follows the WellStar Professional Practice Model and evidence-based standards to ensure safe patient outcomes.

The RN will apply the nursing process, coordinate care with the care team, and uphold patient-centered and culturally competent care while supporting governance and performance improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• RN licensure required in Georgia
• ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications required upon hire (or per policy)

Responsibilities

• Performs the Nursing Process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation using evidence-based practice
• Delivers patient-centered care tailored to age, gender, disease, and cultural diversity
• Collaborates with patient and family using bedside shift reports, rounds and patient education
• Adheres to current clinical practice standards and documents care timely
• Maintains professional practice environment and participates in governance and improvement activities
• Supports outcomes improvement, data collection and evidence-based practice initiatives
• Demonstrates teamwork and resource stewardship in daily operations
• Precepts and mentors junior staff to ensure workforce readiness
• Contributes to protocol development and adherence to safety and quality standards
• Complies with WellStar policies, standards and code of conduct
