Job summary

Veeam is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Performance Engineering team for Data Connectors & High-Scale Ingestion. You will own throughput, latency, scalability, and resource efficiency of multi-source ingestion pipelines moving data from SaaS, cloud, and on-prem sources into the platform at very large scale.

You will design and run performance tests, generate realistic datasets, build tooling to locate bottlenecks, and ship fixes to improve scalability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building enterprise-grade software in Go, C++, or Java.
• Experience with distributed systems and client-server architectures.
• Proficient in scalable, multi-threaded, and concurrent systems.
• Strong CS fundamentals in data structures and algorithms.
• Hands-on Kubernetes, AWS, and Azure experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and run performance and scalability tests for connectors and ingestion pipelines.
• Debug full stack end-to-end to root-cause bottlenecks and regressions.
• Analyze production workloads using Prometheus and Kibana to identify bottlenecks.
• Build tooling for bottleneck analysis and regression comparison.
• Fix performance issues and implement features for parallelism and memory reuse.
• Tune databases and cloud services on Kubernetes across AWS and Azure.
• Own customer-reported performance issues and collaborate with Support and Engineering.
• Participate in design reviews to ensure performance by design.
