Zusammenfassung

Salesforce is seeking a Senior/Lead Performance Engineer for Distributed Database Systems to advance a high-scale database stack powering the Salesforce Platform. You will profile, optimize, and benchmark the database engine and storage service, partnering with multiple teams to ensure production-grade performance.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in performance engineering on distributed systems, strong CS fundamentals, and solid experience with Java or C/C++.

Qualifikationen

5+ years of performance engineering on systems software, ideally databases, storage, or distributed systems.
Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, concurrency, memory management.
Strong coding skills in Java or C/C++.
Experience with telemetry, dashboards, and monitoring against performance targets.

Aufgaben

Drive design and scalability of the database stack with development teams from research through production.
Profile the database engine and storage service to find optimization opportunities for large customers.
Identify root causes of performance issues and drive fixes with owning teams.
Lead benchmarking and modeling to guide hardware selection and capacity planning.
Build telemetry, dashboards, and analyses to show fleet performance against targets.
Own performance qualification of SalesforceDB releases and run workloads to validate releases.
