Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a Senior Director to own the SalesforceDB performance portfolio, guiding strategy and execution across a distributed database platform. You will lead managers and principal engineers, shape architecture, and drive production performance improvements at scale.

You will collaborate with database, storage, and analytics teams, set long-term goals, and ensure reliability and capacity planning across the fleet. Strong leadership and deep technical depth are required.

Qualifications

• Experience leading performance engineering for large-scale distributed systems.
• Track record delivering multi-release improvements across production fleets.
• Ability to set long-term strategy (1+ year horizon) and translate into executable plans.

Responsibilities

• Own the SDB Performance technology line and deliver the V2MOM.
• Define performance and scalability direction for database engine and storage services.
• Lead benchmarking, capacity planning, and incident response for production fleet.
