Job summary

Anne Arundel County is seeking a Senior Performance Auditor (Legislative Audit Manager) to perform advanced government auditing and program analysis in the Office of the County Auditor.

The role involves planning and conducting audits, evaluating internal controls, analyzing budgets, and presenting findings to County leadership and the Council. A strong background in GAAP/GAAS/GAGAS is required, with CPA/CIA/CGAP/CFE or related certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major work in accounting or finance, or a related field.
• Five (5) or more years of experience in accounting or auditing.
• Experience in governmental auditing and applying GAAP/GAAS/GAGAS.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct audits and special reviews; evaluate internal controls and costs.
• Prepare work papers and ensure documentation supports results and recommendations.
• Present findings and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders; engage with County Council as needed.
• Collaborate with OCA staff and other County offices to gather information and complete projects.
