Job summary

Anne Arundel County Government seeks a Senior Performance Auditor (Legislative Audit Manager) to oversee performance audits and legislative analysis in the Office of the County Auditor. The role involves planning audits, evaluating internal controls, and presenting findings to County Council and officials.

Candidates should have a four-year degree in accounting/finance and 5+ years of auditing experience, with strong knowledge of GAAP/GAAS/GAGAS. A background check is required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major work in accounting or finance.
• Five or more years of experience in accounting or auditing.
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP, GAAS and GAGAS principles and standards.

Responsibilities

• Conducts pre-engagement planning including scope and objectives, entrance preparation and testing approach.
• Performs research of laws, regulations and governance frameworks to determine compliance.
• Analyzes financial data, budgets and expenditures to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Evaluates internal controls and regulatory compliance; recommends mitigations.
• Prepares work papers and reports with findings and recommendations for leadership.
