Job summary

Tundra Technical Solutions is recruiting for a perceptual systems engineer to lead development of perception algorithms for LiDAR, radar, and camera fusion. You will architect real-time C++ pipelines for embedded platforms and define validation standards across multiple customer environments.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, deploy systems on-site, and mentor junior engineers while documenting architecture and design decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 4–7 years of experience developing perception systems for advanced robotics, industrial automation, or intelligent vehicle platforms.
• Expert proficiency in C++ (C++11 or newer) with production-grade, multithreaded Linux apps.
• Experience with LiDAR/Radar/Image processing or sensor fusion and object tracking.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and deployment of perception algorithms for LiDAR, radar, camera, and sensor fusion across clients' robotics platforms.
• Architect real-time C++ processing pipelines for object detection, classification, tracking, and sensor fusion in embedded environments.
• Define sensor selection criteria, integration standards, and validation processes for perception systems.
• Drive root-cause analysis and algorithm refinement for perception failures.
• Collaborate with planning, controls, and systems engineers to align perception with autonomy architecture.
• Deploy and configure perception systems at customer sites and provide technical leadership during integration.
• Mentor Perception Engineers I and II and conduct code reviews.
• Document architecture, decisions, and lessons learned.
