Job summary

Agility Robotics seeks a Senior Staff AI Software Engineer, Perception, to own the technical vision for how Digit perceives humans and hazards as it moves from structured cells to open, dynamic environments.

You will work closely with safety, systems, and hardware teams to balance safety, latency, and robustness while mentoring engineers and communicating with leadership. This is a US-based role with remote options and strong total rewards.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in machine learning/perception for robotics.
• Master's or PhD in AI, Robotics, CS or related field.
• Experience delivering safety-critical ML perception systems.
• Expertise in CNNs, multi-object tracking, data association, pose estimation.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical vision and architecture for Perception to enable safety and efficiency.
• Analyze tradeoffs across sensing, model design, redundancy, and compute budget.
• Prototype, validate, or build critical perception components.
• Define safety-case strategy with safety engineers and system teams.
• Support failure mode analysis and guide architecture decisions.
• Mentor engineers and present architecture to leadership and partners.
