Job summary

Blue Origin in Denver is seeking a Senior Perception Lead to drive perception architecture and algorithm strategy for autonomous navigation, targeting, and situational awareness on next-gen space systems.

You will lead design and integration of perception pipelines using cameras, LIDAR, and RADAR, mentor engineers, and collaborate across GN&C, avionics, and systems teams to validate performance through HITL/SITL testing and field campaigns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 8+ years in CV, sensor fusion, or perception.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and Python for perception development.
• Experience leading perception architecture and algorithm strategy.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and integration of perception algorithms for autonomous navigation and situational awareness.
• Architect and implement computer vision and sensor fusion pipelines using cameras, LIDAR, and RADAR data.
• Define technical strategy and roadmaps for perception subsystems aligned with vehicle autonomy.
• Drive object detection, tracking, and classification in dynamic environments.
• Support HITL/SITL testing and field campaigns to validate performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and communicate findings to leadership.
• Stay current with state-of-the-art perception techniques.
