Job summary

DMI is seeking a PeopleSoft Finance Lead Developer to implement and support PeopleSoft Financials across our business environment. The role combines technical development with functional finance process optimization.

Location is the Washington, DC metro area with on-site work at one of our DMV locations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in PeopleSoft, PeopleTools, and database knowledge, plus strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of functional experience related to financial management, accounting, procurement, and other finance-related functions.
• Configure PeopleSoft Financials modules to align with business requirements.
• Develop and modify PeopleSoft applications using PeopleTools, PeopleCode, Application Engine, Component Interface, Integration Broker, and other PeopleSoft development tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Functional experience using e-business software products such as PeopleSoft that includes product configuration, requirements gathering, and developing training materials.
• Experience with databases such as ORACLE, SQL Server, SYBASE, INFORMIX, and DB2.

Responsibilities

• Understand and analyze business processes and requirements related to financial management, accounting, procurement, and other finance-related functions.
• Configure PeopleSoft Financials modules to align with business requirements.
• Develop and modify PeopleSoft applications using PeopleTools, PeopleCode, Application Engine, Component Interface, Integration Broker, and other PeopleSoft development tools.
• Support integration of PeopleSoft Financials modules with other third-party applications to ensure seamless data flow and process automation.
• Provide technical and functional support to end-users and resolve issues related to PeopleSoft Financials applications.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within the PeopleSoft Finance applications.
• Assist in data migration and conversion.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close.
• Support financial audit requirements.
• Conduct peer reviews.
• Troubleshoot functional or business process issues related to WMATA applications and systems.
• Translate relevant application/system configuration to respective users, IT staff, and IT management.
• Configure or reconfigure in-house tools for administration purposes or to support WMATA's business processes.
• Develop complex queries for reporting purposes.
• Create functional design diagrams and present proposed solutions in the form of design reviews.
• Work with other functional analysts and developers to determine the best technical approach, learn new functionality and features of in-house tools as new versions are released, and educate the user community.
• Prepare requirements documents and report mockups.
• Develop training materials.
