Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of experience working with individuals with mental health and/or substance use challenges.
• Personal Recovery Plan demonstrating recovery through lived experience.
• Must have or obtain the required training and certification as noted.

Responsibilities

• Role model recovery by maintaining personal recovery and practicing coping skills.
• Conduct outreach to individuals in the City of Norfolk to build relationships and assess goals.
• Assist individuals in building social connections and accessing services (housing, medical care, entitlements, etc.).
• Coordinate services with other providers to ensure continuity of care and complete required documentation.
• Ensure self-determination by offering multiple pathways to treatment and recovery.
• Facilitate recovery/wellness education groups and provide opportunities for meaningful peer interaction.
• Provide peer support in the NCSB Peer Recovery Drop-in Center and maintain the Warm Line.
• Attend outreach events and advocate for community resources; assist problem-solving and crisis intervention as needed.
• Maintain chart documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA and state regulations.
• Attend staff meetings and training; perform related duties as assigned.
