Job summary

SpaceX in Texas is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer for PCBA (Starlink). You will own PCBA production, drive large-scale SMT processes, support NPI with design teams, and apply SPC and Gauge R&R to optimize yield.

You will lead safety and process documentation, manage WIP, and push continuous improvements for cost and reliability. Candidates should have 5+ years in manufacturing engineering or PCB design, strong communication, and experience with high-volume electronics production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline; 5+ years in manufacturing eng, SMT, reliability design, or PCB design.
• Experience with high-volume production, SMT processes, DFx, and data-driven improvements.
• Familiarity with IPC standards, Six Sigma, and basic failure analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage PCBA manufacturing processes and PCBA products for in-house production.
• Drive processes for volume production including MES, nonconforming product management, configuration management, traceability, and process control.
• Manage NPI of PCBA assemblies, collaborating with design engineers and process specialists.
• Lead equipment selection using process capability analysis and Gauge R&R.
• Design and implement safety improvements for the PCBA production line.
• Maintain work instructions, process docs, and training materials.
• Track schedule, WIP levels, and defect rates for owned products.
• Identify trends to optimize output, quality, and cost of manufacturability.
• Provide feedback to Design for manufacturability improvements.
• Identify, root-cause, and correct SMT production/testing issues.
• Drive corrective actions and process improvements on owned processes.
