Google is seeking a Senior Design for Manufacturability/SMT Engineer to be the principal technical authority for PCBA DfM across its consumer hardware portfolio. You will own the SMT process integration roadmap and lead failure analysis during product ramps, partnering with global contract manufacturers to scale reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field.
• 8 years of experience in high-density consumer hardware design, PCBA, and DFM.
• Experience in SMT process integration, high-risk CAD layout reviews, and component-level failure analysis.

Responsabilités

• Define and execute Google's long-term technology roadmaps for PCBA assembly and high-density packaging.
• Lead the development of Google’s PCBA Design Guidelines for rigid and rigid-flex assemblies.
• Oversee OK2FAB layout approval workflow and high-risk CAD layout reviews to mitigate manufacturing risks.
• Lead high-stakes SMT defect investigations and drive factory yield improvements during NPI and mass production ramps.
• Set engineering standards for panel designs, routing clearances, and SMT traceability parameters.
