Job summary

Jobot Consulting is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Test Development Engineer to design, develop, and deploy test solutions for high-performance hardware systems in Sunnyvale, CA. The role focuses on PCB/PCBA and system-level test, with extensive hands-on hardware validation and bring-up responsibilities.

The successful candidate will lead test strategy and automation efforts, partnering with design, validation, and manufacturing teams to improve yield, coverage, and data traceability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing test development for hardware products.
• Proven, hands‑on experience with PCB and PCBA manufacturing test.
• Hardware validation and bring‑up in manufacturing environments.
• Test design and test development in manufacturing environments.
• Experience developing test software using Python and/or C/C++ in Linux-based environments.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and development of manufacturing test strategies for PCB, PCBA, and system-level hardware.
• Develop and support automated manufacturing test solutions used in factory and contract manufacturing environments.
• Debug and root‑cause hardware, board‑level, and system‑level failures during manufacturing and bring‑up.
• Collaborate with hardware design, validation, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure test coverage, yield improvement, and manufacturability.
• Support PCBA manufacturing test, including boundary scan, functional test, and system integration testing.
• Partner with contract manufacturers on test deployment, sustainment, and issue resolution.
• Develop test software, GUIs, and supporting infrastructure for manufacturing data collection and traceability.
