Job summary

CScale is hiring a Senior PCB/FPGA Engineer to own the electrical hardware that drives our photonic ICs. You will design custom high-speed PCBs, build FPGA-based control and test systems, and bring up optical transceiver hardware operating at very high baud rates.

This hands-on role sits at the photonics-electronics boundary. You will work with photonics, test, and firmware engineers to move boards from schematic through validated lab hardware, with emphasis on SI, PI, and timing closure.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on hardware design experience in photonics/electronics.
• Experience bringing up optical transceiver hardware at high baud rates (≥50 GBd).
• Proven RF PCB design with controlled-impedance and high-speed layouts.
• Track record delivering PCBs from concept to working hardware.
• Production-quality FPGA development in Verilog/SystemVerilog or VHDL.
• Strong lab skills with high-bandwidth instruments and measurements.

Responsibilities

• Own PCB designs end to end: architecture, schematic, layout, bring-up.
• Design high-speed RF boards for optical transceivers and interfaces.
• Engineer controlled-impedance channels up to >50 GHz.
• Perform SI/PI analysis and correlate with measurements.
• Develop FPGA control/test blocks for transceivers.
• Bring up boards in lab and drive root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with photonics, firmware, and software teams.
