Job summary

Garmin is seeking a full-time Printed Circuit Board Designer 2 for our U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area or our Cary, NC site.

You will create complex PCB designs from schematics, collaborating with Product Design and Mechanical Engineers using CAD tools. The role requires strong PCB design expertise, ECAD tool proficiency, and the ability to ensure manufacturability while interpreting design intent from schematics.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Electronics Technology or related field with at least 5 years of similar experience.
• Proficient use and knowledge of PCB design best practices for surface mount, through hole, and up to 2-N-2 HDI designs.
• Expert proficiency with ECAD tools and knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes.
• Ability to interpret design intent from schematics.
• Proficient with PCs and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Set up data for complex high-speed designs.
• Ensure manufacturability is maintained in each design.
• Independently determine approach and provide solutions; assess feasibility of project goals.
• Collaborate and add value to engineering design reviews.
• Contribute to testing tools and process improvements.
