Job summary

Garmin Ltd. in the United States is seeking a Senior Electrical/Design Engineer - Outdoor for the Garmin U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area.

You will provide technical leadership and project planning for analog, digital, and RF designs for Garmin products that are new for Garmin. You will lead design and development, collaborate with production, and participate in design reviews, with emphasis on robust PCB solutions and testability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• GPA >= 3.0 as a general rule.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency with complex schematic and PCB designs.
• Broad knowledge in analog, digital, RF, and/or DSP.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of analog, digital or RF designs for complex products.
• May serve as a Project Engineer on new designs or major changes.
• Collaborate with production to optimize PCB solutions considering thermal/space constraints.
• Contribute to design reviews and product development plans.
• Develop experimental test programs to verify regulatory and quality guidelines.
• Analyze test data to ensure performance specifications are met.
• Interface with Test Engineers and factory staff for prototype manufacture.
• Evaluate latest components and perform cost/performance tradeoffs.
