Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. PCB Designer to create in-house board layouts and work closely with Hardware Development Engineers on schematics and reviews. You will iterate designs for best solutions across diverse systems, including radio phased arrays and power converters.

The role requires deep PCB expertise, strong collaboration, and the ability to drive manufacturability and testability across mission-critical hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and 5+ years of professional PCB layout experience, or 8+ years in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with high-frequency RF, mixed analog/digital, and high pin density layouts.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD, IPC standards; experience with design for manufacturability and testing.

Responsibilities

• Determine layer stackup, component placement, routing feasibility, and signal routing for PCB projects.
• Create and maintain libraries; produce fabrication documentation for PCBs.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers and vendors to improve design rules and testability.
• Utilize and evaluate PCB design tools; train teammates on tooling.
