Job summary

EVONA, a Seattle-based space technology startup, seeks a Senior PCB Designer to own architecture, layout, and QA of high-speed boards for spaceborne SAR and defense missions.

You will collaborate with a Responsible Engineer to define stack-ups, impedance, and EMI/EMC compliance, and you will manage full design lifecycle from schematic collaboration to hardware bring-up, while coordinating with vendors and mechanical, RF, and thermal teams.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Significant experience as a principal-level contributor in multidisciplinary teams delivering spaceborne hardware
• Expert proficiency in Altium Designer and constraint-driven design
• Strong understanding of impedance control, differential-pair routing, grounding, thermal management, and EMI/EMC mitigation
• Experience with DFM/DFA/DFT principles and collaboration with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors
• Familiarity with aerospace/defense hardware design requirements and reliability considerations

Responsibilities

• PCB layout design for high-speed digital, mixed-signal, RF front-end, and power boards supporting spaceborne radar payloads
• Define board-level architecture, layer stack-ups, and routing strategies with the RE
• Execute detailed component placement and routing for complex multilayer designs (BGAs, SERDES, DDR, FPGA, RF interconnects)
• Own the full design lifecycle from schematic collaboration to fabrication and hardware bring-up
• Integrate board design with mechanical, RF, thermal, and system-level constraints
• Coordinate with contract design-service partners to align with internal standards and deliverables
• Support PCB fabrication/vendors with DFM activities and technical inquiries
