Job summary

Eaton Corporation’s Moon Township site in Moon Township, PA is seeking a Designer III to develop PCB designs in collaboration with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers. The role offers a hybrid work model (3 onsite/2 remote) with relocation assistance for onsite work.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate’s Degree in a related field and has at least 5 years of PCB design experience, along with proficiency in Altium Designer.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Electronic Design, Electronics Technology, Drafting, or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of PCB design experience (Internships and Co-Op experiences may count toward this requirement).
• Eaton will not sponsor immigration or CPT/OPT/STEM OPT etc.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers to develop PCB designs meeting functional, mechanical, thermal, safety, and manufacturability requirements.
• Create PCB layouts including component placement, routing, stack-up definition, and design rule implementation using Altium Designer.
• Generate and maintain complete PCB design documentation packages including fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, bills of materials, Gerber files, assembly data, and related documentation for production.
• Review PCB designs for compliance with IPC, EMI/EMC, and safety standards.
• Support design changes by revising PCB layouts and documentation per engineering change requests and product lifecycle requirements.
• Create, maintain, and validate schematic symbols, PCB footprints, 3D models, and component libraries used in PCB design tools.
• Evaluate designs for manufacturability, assembly, testing, reliability, and cost; incorporate feedback from fabrication/assembly partners.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams and external suppliers to establish and improve PCB design standards and rules.
• Generate and maintain 3D models and mechanical interface data to support integration of boards into breaker assemblies.
• Participate in design reviews and provide recommendations to improve performance, reliability, manufacturability, and documentation quality.
• Coordinate with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors to resolve design/manufacturing issues.
• Maintain design files and revision control per engineering procedures.
• Support prototype builds and troubleshooting during product development.
