Job summary

Sora Resource Group is seeking a PCB Design Engineer in Austin, TX to develop high-density multilayer PCBs for advanced embedded computing platforms used in aerospace, defense, and industrial sectors.

You will work with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to turn complex hardware concepts into manufacturable, high-performance layouts, optimizing SI/PI, power delivery, and manufacturability across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of professional PCB layout experience using enterprise-class PCB design tools (Mentor Xpedition strongly preferred).
• Experience translating schematics into manufacturable PCB layouts while collaborating with hardware engineers.
• Proven experience with high-density multilayer PCBs (14-24+ layers) for aerospace, defense, or high-performance electronics.
• Strong SI/PI knowledge and DFM/DFT principles; experience with SI/PI and impedance-control.
• Familiarity with HDI via structures, microvias, and advanced stack-up construction.

Responsibilities

• Develop sophisticated multilayer PCBs to support advanced embedded computing platforms for aerospace, defense, and industrial applications.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, systems, and test engineers to ensure manufacturability and reliability.
• Optimize signal integrity, power integrity, and routing while meeting stringent EMI/EMC and DFM requirements.
• Support fabrication, design reviews, and production activities throughout the product lifecycle.
