Job summary

General Motors Company seeks a Senior Hardware Design Engineer specializing in PCB design to lead in-house development of automotive electronics hardware. You will own electrical controller layout, collaborate across PCBA/ECAD teams, and drive layout decisions for next-gen SDV architectures.

You will coordinate with design, testing, and manufacturing teams to ensure DFM/DFT compliance, optimize for high-speed and RF layouts, and mentor suppliers to meet program milestones in a hybrid work

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required.
Minimum 5 years of PCB layout design experience.
Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools.
Experience with Mentor Graphics is preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead PCB layout design for existing and new ECUs and collaborate with PCBA/ECAD engineers.
Create, lead and verify layout designs with DRC and DFM checks.
Collaborate with circuit, system, and packaging engineers to meet requirements.
Select technology and process for layout based on project needs and manufacturing capabilities.
Optimize layouts for performance, power, area, and manufacturability and work with SI/PI/EMC/ thermal/ mechanical SMEs.
