Job summary

QQR Freight is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to own payroll from start to finish for drivers and office staff across multiple entities based in Cincinnati, OH. You will manage weekly driver payroll and semimonthly office payroll, ensuring accuracy against dispatch, ELD, and time data, while upholding internal controls.

The role partners with HR, Recruiting, Operations, and Finance to deliver timely, compliant payroll, reconcile deductions, and support audits as the company scales.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full-cycle payroll experience, including at least 2 years processing driver payroll
• Experience with payroll systems (Paychex, ADP, or similar) and strong Excel skills
• Solid understanding of trucking operations and how loads, miles, and hours flow into driver pay
• Multi-state, multi-entity payroll experience preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication with accuracy in high-volume data

Responsibilities

• Process weekly driver payroll and settlements across multiple states
• Process semimonthly office payroll through Paychex for salaried and hourly staff
• Reconcile benefits, deductions, and commissions; ensure accurate payouts
• Collaborate with HR, Recruiting, Operations and Finance to support payroll
• Maintain audit-ready payroll documentation and assist audits
