Job summary

New River Electrical Corporation is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to accurately compile, record, and process payroll while delivering excellent employee service. You will work with a team in a fast-paced environment under the Payroll Supervisor.

Responsibilities include processing full payroll for weekly staff, onboarding and offboarding in the payroll system, handling inquiries, garnishments, tax levies, and local taxes, plus maintaining payroll records and related documents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and at least five years of payroll experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word); Vista experience preferred.
• Strong team orientation and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Accurate import and review of payroll data, completing the full payroll cycle for weekly employees.
• Enter new hires and inactivate terminated employees in the payroll system.
• Provide first-line support for payroll inquiries.
• Process garnishments, child support notices, tax levies, unemployment claims, and verification of employment.
• Process union reporting and update system with rate changes.
• File local payroll taxes.
• Enter accounts payable invoices as needed.
• Maintain and file electronic payroll related documents.
