Job summary

The Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller in Palm Beach County seeks a self-starter to join the Payroll Department as a Payroll Specialist. The role processes payroll for nearly 8,000 employees, audits inputs, and ensures timely, compliant payroll actions in a fast-paced government environment.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of payroll regulations, strong analytical ability, and a track record of independent problem solving.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 5 years recent payroll experience.
• Knowledge of payroll regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs regular processing of payroll activities; audits inputs and maintains payroll data and deductions.
• Prepares processes and audits adjustments, benefits deductions, garnishments, corrections, reversals, and manual checks per policy and law.
• Utilizes automated payroll systems for new hires, deductions, tax withholding, and direct deposit setups.
• Audits payroll registers for accuracy and timeliness; resolves discrepancies with minimal supervision.
