Job summary

Acara Solutions is seeking a Payroll Manager in Fremont, CA to own end-to-end U.S. payroll for ~180 employees in a hybrid work model. You will collaborate with HR, Finance, and external providers, ensure tax compliance, and own system interfaces with ADP, Oracle, and SAP.

The role requires 5+ years in payroll, strong accounting knowledge, and leadership experience in a fast-paced, multi-state environment. A direct-hire position with flexible arrangements is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• Min 5 years of progressive, technical payroll experience for 150+ employees.
• Strong understanding of payroll accounting, reconciliations, and GL processes.
• Knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local payroll requirements.
• Min 3 years of experience with ADP.
• Min 5 years of Excel experience with pivots and lookups.
• Min 2 years multi-state payroll processing and taxation.
• Min 2 years as a manager, lead, or supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end U.S. payroll for ~180 employees.
• Perform pre- and post-payroll audits for accuracy.
• Coordinate with HR, Finance, Accounting, Benefits, and external providers.
• Prepare payroll journal entries and reconciliations.
• Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with laws and policies.
• Lead payroll system interfaces and documentation.
