Job summary

Quantum Industrial is seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee full-cycle payroll across multiple states. You will partner with Operations, HR, Benefits and Finance to verify time, ensure accurate processing through Rippling, and maintain compliance.

The role requires 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, familiarity with Rippling or similar HRIS, and strong knowledge of FLSA and wage-and-hour rules. CPP/FPC is a plus and Excel proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience including multi-state payroll.
• Experience as Payroll Manager or Lead is strongly preferred.
• Experience with Rippling or a comparable payroll/HRIS system such as ADP/Paycom/Paylocity.
• Strong knowledge of FLSA, wage-and-hour requirements, and payroll compliance.
• Strong Excel skills for reconciliation, reporting, and data validation.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle, multi-state payroll processing through Rippling.
• Verify payroll information and approvals from Operations.
• Review time data for hours, overtime, PTO and wage-and-hour rules.
• Import data into Rippling and review payroll reports before submission.
• Audit payroll registers and reconcile to the general ledger.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies quickly and accurately.
• Administer deductions, benefits contributions, garnishments, and payroll changes.
• Ensure accurate tax withholding and timely filings (federal, state, local).
• Process hires, pay changes, and terminations per state requirements.
• Prepare certified payroll and prevailing wage documentation where applicable.
• Manage year-end payroll activities including W-2s and reconciliation.
• Serve as primary contact for employee payroll questions.
• Support audits related to workers’ compensation, 401(k), etc.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and provide reporting to Finance/Leadership.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and controls.
