Job summary

Clark Construction Group is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead multi-state payroll operations for 5,000+ employees across bi-weekly and weekly cycles. You will supervise two Payroll Supervisors while partnering with the Payroll Director to drive process improvements and ensure accurate compensation.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in payroll, preferably in construction/manufacturing, and strong experience with Workday, SAP, or Oracle, plus CPP is a plus.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive payroll experience with at least 3 years in leadership
• Construction/Engineering/Manufacturing payroll knowledge preferred
• Experience handling weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycles and various tax jurisdictions
• Strong expertise in enterprise-level HCM/payroll systems and Excel modeling
• Bachelor’s degree required; CPP designation a plus

Responsibilities

• Direct end-to-end processing of multi-state payroll for 5,000+ employees across bi-weekly and weekly cycles
• Lead two Payroll Managers and foster growth, accountability, and precision
• Ensure compliance with federal/state labor laws, taxes, CBAs, and Davis-Bacon Act requirements
• Partner with Payroll Director to optimize systems and workflows to reduce manual entry
• Own payroll tax filings, year-end processing (W-2s), and internal audits
• Collaborate with HR, IT, and Legal for seamless integration of timekeeping and payroll
