Job summary

This hands-on leader must have extensive multi-state payroll expertise and deep knowledge of California payroll compliance to build and guide a high-performing team.

The role requires collaboration with Human Resources, Finance, and Operations to resolve issues, improve processes, and ensure accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience managing multi-state payroll with California compliance.
• Experience handling large hourly workforce payroll.
• Strong knowledge of regular rate of pay, shift differentials, sick leave, and prevailing wage.
• Hands-on payroll processing, reviewing, and approvals.
• Proven leadership in building high-performing payroll teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll for multi-state workforce.
• Review, audit, and approve payroll with compliance.
• Ensure CA payroll compliance including leave and wage laws.
• Lead and develop payroll team with coaching and accountability.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Operations to resolve issues.
• Maintain payroll system integrity and seek process improvements.
• Respond to employee inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
• Provide accurate payroll reporting for audits.
