Job summary

Firefighters First Federal Credit Union is seeking a Senior Payroll Administrator to own end-to-end multi-state payroll operations in a fully remote role. This position reports to HR and requires strong ADP Workforce Now expertise and 401(k) administration.

The incumbent will manage tax compliance, benefits deductions, and monthly reporting, driving process improvements while advising employees and leaders. A bachelor’s degree and 7 years payroll experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 7 years’ experience in payroll administration including multi-state payroll.
• 5 years’ experience with California payroll.
• 5 years’ experience using Excel (advanced formulas e.g. VLOOKUP).
• 3 years’ experience as ADP Workforce Now Super User.
• 3 years’ experience with 401(k) retirement plans and payroll-related benefit deductions.
• 3 years’ experience with benefits administration and payroll deductions.
• 3 years’ experience with payroll-related compliance (EEO-1, Form 5500).
• 100% remote role with a dedicated home office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end multi-state payroll operations bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and off-cycle.
• Serve as ADP Workforce Now Super User; manage configuration, data integrity, reporting, and audits.
• Administer payroll-related benefits and retirement programs; reconcile carrier invoices and payroll deductions.
• Manage multi-state payroll tax compliance and reporting; address notices and tax setup with locations.
• Own end-to-end payroll and benefits reporting, month-end close, and Form 5500 preparation.
• Advise employees and leaders on payroll and benefits matters; resolve complex issues.
• Continuously improve payroll processes, controls, and systems.
