Vast is seeking a Senior Employment Tax and Payroll Analyst in Long Beach, CA to support payroll tax operations across federal, state, and local jurisdictions. You will collaborate with People Operations, Finance, and external providers to ensure compliant payroll processing and tax filings.

The role demands 5+ years in payroll/employment tax, multi-state experience, and strong Excel/HRIS skills, with travel up to 10% and overtime as needed.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of payroll, employment tax, or related function experience.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Experience managing payroll tax filings, deposits, and year-end reporting.
• Multi-state payroll and employment taxation experience.
• Excellent analytical and reconciliation skills with attention to detail.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with HRIS/payroll systems.

Aufgaben

• Process semi-monthly and bi-weekly payroll transactions, including taxes and garnishments.
• Oversee multi-state payroll tax requirements and registrations.
• Prepare and file quarterly/annual payroll tax filings (941, W-2, 940, etc.).
• Coordinate with external payroll providers and internal teams for compliance.
• Analyze payroll data to identify trends and ensure accuracy.
• Maintain payroll records and respond to tax inquiries.
