Job summary

Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP is seeking a Payroll Consultant to support payroll engagements across clients, industries, and geographies. You will assess and improve payroll processes, and perform multistate compliance reviews including federal, state, and local requirements.

The role requires experience in payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, SAP, Oracle/PeopleSoft, Paycom, Paycor, or similar platforms. CPP certification is strongly preferred (or in progress).

Qualifications

• 3+ years of payroll experience in consulting, payroll provider, or in-house function.
• Experience with multistate payroll and compliance processes.
• Familiar with payroll tax forms and filings (e.g., 941, 941-X, W-2C).
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and office tools.
• CPP certification strongly preferred (or in progress).

Responsibilities

• Support payroll consulting engagements across a range of clients, industries, and geographies.
• Assist in assessing and improving payroll processes, controls, and procedures.
• Perform multistate payroll compliance reviews, including federal, state, and local regulations.
• Support payroll tax activities, including preparation and review of forms (e.g., 941, 941-X, W-2C).
• Assist with payroll setup and configuration, including earnings, deductions, and tax treatments.
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to deliver timely, accurate work.
