Qualifications

• Payroll experience in a large organization or university setting is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of payroll policies, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Experience with Workday and Kronos Timekeeping is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for comprehensive payroll services for Partners and ASI employees.
• Identify and build the optimal organizational structure of the payroll department.
• Hire and train new employees as business needs arise.
• Manage Kronos/Workday timekeeping system, including DB management and security access for 5,000+ users.
• Educate employees on payroll policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Ensure Partners compliance with policies, laws, and accounting practices.
• Evaluate and implement changes to payroll processes and systems.
• Improve operations, reduce turnaround times, and enhance customer service.
• Oversee loading of payroll data and preparation of timecards for entry.
• Oversee off-cycle payroll checks as needed for late timecards or terminations.
• Approve payroll remittances and reconciliations for related accounts.
• Reconcile quarterly transactions prior to tax return preparation.
• Prepare payroll tax forms (e.g., 941, DE6) for Cal Poly Partners and ASI; manage W-2 forms.
• Manage tip allocation reporting and related W-2 reporting requirements.
