Job summary

CAL POLY PARTNERS is seeking a Payroll Accounting Manager to oversee payroll services for Partners and ASI, ensuring accuracy and compliance across federal and state requirements.

You will manage the Kronos/Workday timekeeping system, coordinate payroll activities, and lead a payroll team to process bi-weekly and off-cycle payrolls.

Remote work may be considered for qualified California residents; some on-site presence at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo is expected.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee comprehensive payroll services for Partners and ASI employees.
• Identify and build the optimal organizational structure of the payroll department.
• Hire and train new employees as business needs arise.
• Manage the Kronos Workday based timekeeping system, including database management, customer support and security authorization to 5,000+ users.
• Educate employees on established payroll related policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Ensure Partners compliance in all areas of responsibility; maintain knowledge of and implement changes based on policies and laws.
• Oversee the loading of payroll data and preparation of timecards for entry into the system; prepare adjusting entries and verify signatures and hour totals.
• Oversee off-cycle payroll checks as needed for late timecards or terminations; approve payroll remittances and tax filings.
• Prepare payroll tax forms and W-2s; manage annual distributions and related reporting.
