Job summary

Cupertino Electric, Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager, Payroll Compliance to lead our payroll regulatory framework in San Jose, CA. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, oversee audits, and partner with HR, Legal and Finance to strengthen controls.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in payroll with compliance focus, leadership experience, and knowledge of Workday/ADP/SAP. CPP certification and multi-state experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field is required.
• 8+ years payroll experience with a strong focus on compliance and auditing; 3+ years in leadership/management.
• CPP or similar certification preferred; multi-state payroll experience a plus.
• Knowledge of SOX controls and audit frameworks; experience with Taft-Hartley benefit funds and union payrolls.

Responsibilities

• Lead payroll compliance framework to ensure federal, state, and local regulatory adherence.
• Design, implement, and maintain payroll audit framework.
• Conduct regular payroll audits and coordinate internal/external audits.
• Advise HR, Finance, Legal and senior leadership on compliance matters.
• Ensure compliance with CBAs, prevailing wage, and union payroll requirements.
• Drive process improvements and governance for payroll policies and reporting.
