Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a Senior Payroll Analyst to oversee payroll, accounting and reporting for a large multi-entity operation in the United States. You will partner with HR, Finance, Tax and Accounting to ensure efficient and accurate payroll processes in line with UFP policies and values.

The role is on-site at our Grand Rapids, MI location, with responsibilities including tax filings, DOL inquiries, and collaboration with auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, HR, finance or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of payroll reporting experience; 10 years preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of payroll processing experience.
• Strong payroll and accounting knowledge required.
• Advanced knowledge of ADP Smart Compliance and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee payroll, accounting and reporting for 65+ entities across 49 states.
• Partner with HR, Finance, Tax and Accounting to ensure accurate payroll reporting.
• Manage withholding and unemployment tax compliance, filings and registrations.
• Ensure proper taxation of company fringe benefits.
• Handle DOL inquiries and support external audits as needed.
• Collaborate with Sr. HR Manager to provide required HR information to auditors.

The Senior Payroll Analyst will partner with operations personnel, Human Resources, Finance, Tax and the Accounting departments to ensure that proper payroll accounting and reporting is efficient and accurate while maintaining UFP Policy and values.

The Senior Payroll Analyst is responsible for overseeing the Payroll, Accounting and reporting activities for a company of over 65 entities, in 49 states. The Senior Payroll Analyst will partner with operations personnel, Human Resources, Finance, Tax and the Accounting departments to ensure that proper payroll accounting and reporting is efficient and accurate while maintaining UFP Policy and values.

Location

This role will be fully on-site, based out of our Grand Rapids, MI location.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

• Partners with HR Payroll Manager to enhance and improve efficiencies in overall payroll processing and reporting.
• Partners with Tax, Finance, Treasury and Plant personnel with analysis of payroll inquiries.
• Manages the withholding and unemployment tax compliance, including monthly, quarterly and annual tax filings and registrations.
• Ensures the proper taxation of company provided employee fringe benefits.
• Handles all Department of Labor (DOL) inquiries and reporting.
• Assists Sr. HR Manager with gathering, verifying, and submitting HR information to UFP’s independent auditors/third party on an as needed basis.
• Gather and provide third party sick pay information to payroll for processing.
• Project Management as they are assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications

Knowledge

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, HR, Finance, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of payroll reporting (Accounting/Tax) required, 10 years preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of payroll processing experience preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of payroll and accounting
• Advanced knowledge of ADP Smart Compliance
• Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
• Working knowledge of Workday HCM preferred.
