Job summary

Century Group is partnering with a client to recruit a Senior Payroll Analyst in California. You will manage multistate payroll, ensure timely processing, and maintain compliance with regulations while partnering with HR, accounting, and IT teams.

You will lead payroll reconciliations, audits, and reporting, provide data-driven insights, and support system enhancements and automation initiatives. A strong Excel skill set and payroll certifications are highly valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience including multistate processing.
• Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax requirements and compliance.
• Experience with enterprise payroll systems and advanced Excel for reporting.
• Experience supporting payroll audits, year-end processing and regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Senior Payroll Analyst to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $80,000 to $100,000 per year.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage payroll operations by processing employee compensation accurately and ensuring timely payroll completion.
• Review payroll data including earnings deductions taxes and special pay adjustments to maintain compliance and accuracy.
• Perform payroll reconciliations, reporting, and financial analysis to support accounting and operational needs.
• Partner with human resources, accounting, technology, and business teams to resolve payroll issues and improve processes.
• Lead payroll system initiatives by supporting implementations, testing efforts, process enhancements, and automation opportunities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including responsibility for multistate payroll processing.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax requirements, wage garnishments, and payroll compliance practices.
• Possess experience with enterprise payroll systems and advanced Excel skills for reporting and reconciliations.
• Maintain experience supporting payroll audits, year end processing, regulatory reporting, and payroll related accounting activities.
