Qualifications

  • Strong month-end close experience and GAAP knowledge.
  • Proficient in MS Office and ability to learn new software.

Responsibilities

  • Complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities related to payroll and benefits expenses, accruals, and prepaid accounts.
  • Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules; support financial reporting.
  • Manage domestic and international payroll accounting, including expense classifications and accrual estimates.
  • Maintain bonus schedules, tax receivables/liabilities, and benefits balances; coordinate with partners for accuracy.
  • Assist audits and respond to management inquiries; ensure timely GAAP-compliant reporting.

Responsibilities include the ownership of domestic and international payroll and benefits, including expenses, accruals, and prepaid accounts and the production of financial and regulatory reports based on those records. Other responsibilities include performing accounting and financial analysis, preparing account reconciliations and assisting in the preparation of accounting statements and reports. This role will partner closely with Human Resources and other cross-functional teams to support month-end close and ongoing financial operations.Job ResponsibilitiesComplete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities related to payroll and benefits expenses, accruals, and prepaid accountsPrepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedulesPerform domestic and international payroll accounting, including verification of expense classifications and accrual estimatesMaintain bonus schedules, tax receivables and liabilities, and benefits liability balancesCoordinate with business partners to ensure completeness and accuracy of accrualsAnalyze expense trends and variances and provide explanations to managementOrganize and evaluate prepaid expenses and balances, ensuring proper amortization and accurate period recognition, according to policyCollaborate cross-functionally to support business initiatives and financial transparencyIdentify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance controlsAssist with system implementations or upgrades related to accounting processesPrepare and review financial reports for accuracy; complete any additional review or investigation requiredResearch and respond to financial inquiries from managementParticipate in preparation of complex schedules and documentation for internal and external audits, both domestic and internationalEnsure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAPAssist as needed to perform other related duties and special projects as requestedAccept other duties as assignedRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree required5+ years of experience working in accounting preferably in a Big 4 or large company, with 3+ years preferred specifically in payroll accountingStrong experience with month-end closeStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and OutlookDemonstrated ability to learn new accounting softwareAbility to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environmentPreferred QualificationsCPA preferredDrive for Results (Service, Quality, and Continuous Improvement): Ensure procedures and processes are in place that lead to delivery of quality results and continually reassess their effectiveness to achieve continuous improvementCommunication: Proficient verbal and written communication skills; willingness to share and receive information and ideas from all levels of the organization to achieve the desired resultsTeamwork: Commitment to the successful achievement of team and organizational goals through a desire to participate with and help other members of the teamCustomer Service Focus: Demonstrate a focus on listening to and understanding client/customer needs and then delighting the client/customer by exceeding service and quality expectationsPhysical DemandsMust possess ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of timeMust possess ability to perform repetitive motionTrainingAll job specific, safety, and compliance training are assigned based on the job functions associated with this employeeConditions of Employment: Individual must successfully complete pre-employment process, which includes criminal background check, drug screening, credit check ( applicable for certain positions) and reference verification.This job description reflects management’s assignment of essential functions.
