Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineer to define and lead the engineering approach for complex features in a next-generation wire payment processing platform.

The role requires deep expertise in Java, Node.js, Oracle, Kafka, RabbitMQ, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) with a focus on scalable, secure architectures and agile delivery. Strong leadership and mentoring skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience in payments and integration across wire, ACH, RTP.
• Deep knowledge of ISO 20022 messaging standards.
• Proven experience deploying on AWS with EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway.
• Hands-on with IaC using CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Experience with CI/CD using AWS tools (CodePipeline/CodeBuild/CodeDeploy).
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and cross-team collaboration.
• Enterprise Java/J2EE, Spring, RESTful APIs, and distributed data systems.

Responsibilities

• Define the engineering approach for complex features aligned with portfolio solutions.
• Lead CI/CD implementation and tool stack evaluation for scalable delivery.
• Guide design and best practices for high performance and secure cloud apps.
• Deliver end-to-end features across multiple teams at program level.
• Architect cloud-native solutions on AWS with security and monitoring best practices.
• Ensure regulatory compliance for cloud-based financial applications.
• Mentor engineers and drive agile delivery practices.
