Job summary

Splash seeks a backend payments engineer to own the money flow across deposits, withdrawals, entry fees and payouts while enforcing fraud checks and a precise double-entry ledger connected to all player wallets and contests.

You will design and operate backend services with Node.js and TypeScript on AWS, partnering with Finance, Compliance, and global engineers to ensure robust, auditable payment pipelines in a regulated real-money environment.

Qualifications

• Experience designing backend services for payments and financial workflows.
• Strong understanding of reconciliation and auditability in regulated environments.
• Ability to implement idempotent, exactly-once processing and robust concurrency controls.

Responsibilities

• Own the money side of Splash: deposits, withdrawals, entry fees, payouts, fraud checks, and the double-entry ledger tying every cent to player wallets and contests.
• Design and run backend services on NodeJS and TypeScript in AWS, collaborating with Finance, Compliance, and engineers in the US and Prague.
• Automate reconciliation, build payment processor integrations, and ensure exactly-once posting, audit trails, and safe concurrency in a regulated real-money environment.
